Taiwanese WiMAX carriers Global Mobile, Vee TIME, and Tatung InfoComm announced on August 18 that they have launched a joint trial of WiMAX roaming service, which is free of charge until the year-end, the United Daily News reported. The roaming service is currently available in eight cities and counties, including Taipei City, Hsinchu City and County, Taichung City and County, and Kaohsiung City, as well as the outlying islands of Kinmen County and Penghu County. It is projected that approximately eight million users in Taiwan will be able to access the roaming service.
